Adopt Me LinkPicture of Mary

Hi, I'm Mary!

Mary came in with Jane. She is also about 4 years old, weighs 46 lbs, is spay and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Mary is friendly and wags her tail all the time -- she's never met a stranger. She loves flopping over to get belly rubs. Mary gets along well with dogs. While at the vets the staff there kept saying what a sweet loving dog Mary is. She and Jane would love to stay together; so if you would adopt them both we'll lower the adoption fee.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Jane

Hi, I'm Jane!

Jane came to us from another rescue group in central Texas. She is about 4 years old, weighs 48 lbs, is spay and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Jane came in with another basset gal, Mary, they had been used a breeders. They are an adorable pair, both sweet and easy going. Everybody is their friend. They would do best if we kept them together, but they each get along well with other dogs. Jane is playful and friendly and only wants a home to call her own and people who will play with her and love her. If you are looking for a sweet, loving companion, why not double your fun and take both -- we'll even lower the adoption fee.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Annie

Say Hi to Annie!

Annie came from an area shelter where she had been picked up as a stray. She is about 4 years old, spay, up-to-date on vaccinations. However, Annie tested positive for heartworms and will need to be treated. She is such a sweet basset and deserves to have a forever home where she will be loved and cared for -- even the staff at the vet's say she's the sweetest basset they have seen. She loves people and wants to be with you as much as possible. She is a happy little thing and is always wagging her tail.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Homer

Here's Homer!

Homer came from a local shelter where his owner left him. Homer is about 2 year old, neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He weighs about 50 lbs. Homer is a special little guy who needs a family who will understand that he is timid and unsure of himself. It will take a little time for him to adjust to his new home and to learn to trust people. We don't think he had much interaction with people or other dogs in his previous "life." He seems unsure of what's going on or what might happen to him. We feel that once he gets settled in his new home he will be a great companion dog.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Elvis

This is Elvis!

Elvis is all basset. He came from a local shelter where he was picked up as a stray and waited for his owner to claim him -- but no one came. He is about ~4-5 years old and weighs 49 lbs. He is microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is a great age for a basset, still young enough to want to play but old enough to know when its time to "rest." Elvis likes other dogs and wants to run and play. He's friendly and outgoing and loves to get pets.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Betty

This is Betty!

Betty is a 40 lbs., spayed female, tricolor basset looking for a home. We're not sure about her age, the vet says 8 years but she acts much younger than that and says she has a lot of living left to do. She is a happy, happy, happy basset. She has a spring in her step and loves to go exploring. She never met a stranger and looks forward to walks. She also likes to chill out on the couch with you and just be near you.
Betty is up-to-date on her shots and tested negative for heartworms. The vet said she was all wiggly and wags while with them. She'll be getting her teeth cleaned ASAP and then will be ready for her forever home.
If you're looking for an older, more settled basset -- then Betty is the basset companion for you!

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Lady

Meet Lady!

Lady is a ~3 year old, spayed female basset hound. She came from an out of town shelter where she had been picked up as a stray that no one wanted. She is up-to-date on all her vaccinations and is in good health.

She loves being with people and really likes children. She can be a bit bossy with other dogs and that's why we call her our Diva. She wants it her way! She enjoys walks and just sniffing around the backyard. She loves being with you and her foster mom laughingly calls Lady a "velcro dog" because she sticks close to her.

If you're looking for a companion dog, Lady is the dog for you.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Holly

Say hello to Holly!

Holly's had a hard life so far. We believe that she was used as a breeding dog until she couldn't any more. Then ended up in the home of a collector. And even with all that she still is a good basset. She likes people and wants to be petted and cared for -- just like any other basset. She is ~ 8 years old, tri-color, and is a smaller basset, she weighs about 38 lbs. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is spayed. She would do well in a home where the activity level is moderate, as she enjoys napping on the couch (or in a dog bed). Don't get us wrong, she's not a couch potato as she loves taking walks as well. While at the vet's they kept saying what a sweet, sweet, little dog she is.
We think Holly deserves to spend the rest of her life the way a basset should as someone's beloved companion -- is that someone you?

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Dave and Axel

Meet Dave and Axel

Dave and Axel are basset mixes, but what cuties! They are ~1 year old and full of all that wonderful puppiness that makes being with them a joy. They are bonded and will need to be adopted together.

Both are neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchippped.

This is a note from their foster mom about them, "I just wanted to let you know that they are just fine, eating and chewing their bones, and running and playing with my two. They haven’t given us a moment’s trouble, and they are doing very well with going to the yard with our two to do their business. Whoever adopts these two is going to get two very sweet and very affectionate hounds. They are just adorable and they both love, love, love to be loved." They’ll need a yard to play in and an active family.
