Adopt Me LinkPicture of Louie

Here's Louie!

Louie came from an area humane society where animal control had turned him in as a stray. Louie is looking for a new home where he will be loved.

Louie is about 4 years old, weighs 48 lbs., is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Louie has mild lateral hip dysplasia in his left hip, but does not require surgery. No one told him about it so he's fine with it, no limping or indication of pain. He will need to maintain his low weight to avoid causing damage to his hip joint and he would do best in a home with no or very few stairs.

Louie's foster mom says he must have been a interior designer in his ""previous" life. When she got home, after running a few errands, he had rearranged the furniture in her den. He didn't chew anything up, just moved the chair where he wanted. He also must have called one of his buddies cause the phone was off the hook! Louie is full of personality and is housetrained with a doggy door.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Rosco

This is Rosco

Rosco was surrendered by his family who moved from a house with a big yard to an apartment. Rosco didn't adjust to the apartment, so his family had to let him go.

Approximately 2 1/2 years old, Rosco is a neutered male basset. He weighs in at 48 lbs. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped.

Rosco is a very sweet dog and has a great personality. His former family had children and he likes to play. He also likes to just chill out with you on the couch -- if you'll let him. He likes walks and especially likes treats. He needs a home with a fenced yard for him to run around in and play.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Napoleon

Meet Napoleon!

Okay, so he's not all basset - but he has a basset body, basset legs and certainly a basset heart. Its not his fault that his mom was indiscriminate and he's got a lab head - besides he thinks it suites him very well. Napoleon is a good sized guy, weighing in at 68 lbs. He is up to date on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He's approximately 5-6 years old.

He was adopted out of a local animal shelter in 2006, but he was returned because his owner couldn't keep him anymore. Nappy loves people and going for walks to explore new things. But, he can become anxious when faced with new situations and will need some reassurance. While staying at the vets the entire staff said that Napoleon was a good dog.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Fred

This is Fred!

Fred as a stray that was found by a family who after two months were not able to keep him anymore. Fred was given up because the other dog in the home didn't like him and he had some housetraining issues.

Fred is an older basset, but full of love to share with the right family. He is around 8-10 years old and weighs in at 57 lbs. Fred had four tumors that the vet removed when he cleaned Fred's teeth. The vet was unable to get clear margins on the tumor on Fred's tail, which meant the tumor would come back. So the vet removed about a third of Fred's tail - that's why we call him, Fred the bob-tailed basset. Fred had three other tumors removed and all his stitches are due to come out March 28. After that he should be ready for his new family.

Fred is current on all his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is in good health for a basset his age and is heartworm negative.

Fred is laid back and enjoys spending time just sitting with you. He also enjoys walks and loves to stop and sniff at all the different things he comes across. If you are interested in making Fred's last years the best his ever known then fill out an online application today.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Moseley

This is Moseley.

Moseley was returned to HHBR, after 4 1/2 years, by his owner who couldn't keep him anymore. He is 4 1/2 year old, neutered male and weighs 56 lbs. Moseley's mom, a basset hound named Rosie came into the HHBR program back in 2002 and 3 days later she had 8 puppies. She had been surrendered to a shelter because she had heartworms and was pregnant.

Moseley is friendly with adults but hasn't been around children much. He lived with a cat. He loves walks as well as "chilling" on the couch with you. He can become distressed when left alone for long periods of time. He sometimes plays too rough with other dogs and he does need some training. He is fearful of thunderstorms. Moseley is house trained.

Moseley is up-to-date on his vaccinations and heartworm negative. Not all basset; but with a loving heart Moseley is looking for a permanent home. Fill out an online app for him today.
