Basset Hound (short coat) : : Male (not neutered) : : Adult : : Medium
Gus came from an area shelter and is a very mellow, laid back, sweet guy, approximately 6 years old. He weighed 41 lbs on intake; but, the shelter fed him multiple small meals during the day to help him gain a little weight and he’s up to 43 lbs. This boy is handsome and with some weight will be striking. He has had a rough life; but his personality is happy-go-lucky and friendly. If you would like to donate to his veterinary care. On intake he was infested with fleas. He was bathed and given meds for the fleas. After he slept for a couple of days at the shelter he was up and meeting people at his run gate with a happy tail. He barked in a friendly manner as other dogs walked by. He walked okay on a leash and in the play yard spent his time exploring and sniffing all the good smells hounds like. He enjoys hands on attention. He is HW positive, has a yeast infection in his ears, and has kennel cough. His chest X-rays didn’t show any abnormalities. He needs a dental & neutered. Gus will need to get over his kennel cough before he goes anywhere. He also needs a dental, to be neutered, and go through HW treatment. If the adopters have experience with HW treatment, we will consider letting him be adopted sooner.
